SEO & AI Search Optimization
A website can look polished and still be difficult to find.
Sometimes the cause sits behind the page. In other cases, the site structure or content is getting in the way.
I help businesses and non-profits work out what is happening and make the changes most likely to improve it.
The goal is not to fix every warning or chase every new search acronym. It is to find what is actually holding the website back.
Search now happens in more places
People still use keywords to search on Google. They also ask AI tools direct questions and use them to compare their options.
Sometimes they get an answer without visiting every website in the results. That changes how much someone may know about your organization before they reach your site.
AI search has not replaced SEO.
Your website still needs a sound technical foundation and information that search systems can interpret accurately.
I account for AI visibility within that broader work, rather than treating it as a separate set of tricks.
Start with a closer look
Two websites can have similar visibility problems and need completely different work. Before I recommend any changes, I need to see what is happening on yours.
The review may be a focused SEO audit or the first stage of a larger project. I don’t run the same checklist for every site or treat every warning as equally important.
By the end of the review, you should know what is affecting visibility and where I would start.
The next step depends on the site
The project may centre on a full technical audit or focused on-page SEO. If the findings show that site structure or content is contributing to the problem, I can address those areas as well.
Technical SEO
Technical SEO covers the behind-the-scenes setup that helps search engines crawl and index your site. I review sitemaps, redirects, duplicate pages, broken links, structured data, mobile performance, site speed, and more.
Audit tools can flag possible problems, but they can't tell you which ones are actually holding your site back. I review the technical setup in context and decide what deserves attention.
The work doesn't have to stop with a report - I can make the changes directly and/or give your developer clear instructions for anything that belongs with them.
Site Structure & Content
A website can be technically sound and still make important pages difficult to reach. Several pages may cover the same subject, while a key service sits too far down in the site.
Sometimes the site needs a clearer route, not more pages. Similar content may need to be combined, or an existing page may need a sharper focus. I only recommend something new when there is a real gap to fill.
Because I work on both search strategy and copy, I can follow the issue through to the page instead of stopping at “rewrite this.”
AI Search Visibility
You may hear this work called AEO, GEO, or AI search optimization. The labels vary, but the practical work still starts with SEO.
AI-powered search tools need reliable information about the organization behind the website. I assess whether key details are clear and whether the site gives those tools enough context to use them correctly.
No one can guarantee a particular ranking or AI citation because those decisions ultimately belong to the search engines and AI platforms. I focus on strengthening the parts of your website that can improve its visibility.
Making Sense of the Data
SEO reports can be a lot to take in. A dashboard may flag dozens of issues without telling you which ones are actually affecting the website.
The tools are useful, but they don’t know your organization or what deserves attention first.
I review the findings myself and compare them with what is happening on the site. You get a clear explanation and a practical next step, not a software export that creates more work for you.
The project should fit the problem
Not every website needs ongoing SEO help.
Sometimes a thorough review and a clear plan are all you need. You can make the changes yourself, share the recommendations with your team, or have me handle the work.
I don’t design or develop complete websites from scratch, but I can collaborate with your designer or developer and recommend someone suitable when you need another specialist.
